I don't think Judo fighter use Uchimata like this but this is more practical
Indeed they don't, because the pummel situation is unrealistic in Judo where the grips will mostly prevent anyone to get there. This is a clever adaptation for a self-defense (or fight) scenario where the clinch is important and available.
