Rickson talks about the response to his book

POST
In 2021, Rickson Gracie's memoir, Breathe, was published. Online reviews of the book speak for themselves, but the most impactful kind of response has been provided by people thanking the master directly. Here's what he had to say about that:

"The book gave me a great feedback from the readers, from the guys who were already practicing jiujitsu, and by learning from the book, they started to become a better competitor. I have a competitor who told me he was competing better based on the things he learned in the book.

"I also have somebody who said the book was great for him as an experience for the emotional control, and the breathing helps him a lot in terms of becoming more peaceful in his mind.

"And other situations also, from people having no understanding of the practice of jiujitsu, but they really like the aspect of my life where I have done some flaws, some mistakes, and I exposed myself very truly in the book, and showing not only a Rickson Gracie fighter, a champion, but a human being who also can make mistakes and reinvent himself, and use those mistakes in terms of becoming positive and use those to excel, to get better, not to go deeper in a hole.

"So, in different aspects of different people, I received different feedback—very positive, actually, in terms of what they can get from the book. I'm very inspired by that."
